How long will it take you to build/redesign/update my site?

Every site we design is different and so it is not possible to give generalisations about the timeframe for designing or updating a site. Before starting on a new project we will give a time estimate along with the quote. Whenever possible this time estimate is stuck to. To give a very rough guide - small business card or brochure sites are normally finished in 7 days or less, larger online stores and extensive Flash design will take longer. If you have specific deadline requirements then please tell us and we will do our best to prioritise your work.

I want to sell products online but I'm worried about security issues?

Over the last five years the security of online transactions has been tightened up to a very high degree. We have been building e-commerce sites using online credit card transactions since 2000. We can set up your site to use 128-bit SSL encryption which is the highest level of security available. Together with a respected online payment processor this gives you peace of mind while allowing your store to function effectively.

I'm located outside of the UK - can you still help me?

Of course! The Internet is a global community and we can, and do, provide our services throughout the world. We make it easy, whether you are domiciled in London, USA or just next door. Check our portfolio and you will find clients not only from Cornwall and other areas of the UK but as far away as Chicago and Florida!

What will my new site cost me in the future?

We will give up to 1 hours worth of free alterations to your set package site within the first 3 months. After that we can offer ongoing fixed or variable price updates to suit your needs. We can also offer to give training to your staff so you can maintain a small site yourself. Hosting is normally paid annually in advance and domain registration paid every 2 years. Email for more information or for a quote for ongoing updates.

Do you consider loading time when designing a site?

Very much so! Statistics show that approximately 31% of business users worldwide are still using narrowband (modem) connections and this statistic rises to over 50% for home users. While the web is certainly heading towards broadband as the norm, it will be a while yet! We take this into account along with the target audience of the site we are working on and make loading speed a top priority. When sites will take more then a few seconds to load by modem we provide informative preloaders whenever possible to keep the user updated.

Will my site be listed in Google, Yahoo, MSN, Altavista...?

Whenever we build a site we make it as search engine friendly as we can to increase the chances of it being listed as highly as possible in the search engines. On completion we will submit to the major, free search engines and directories but we can offer other types of online marketing of required. Sites such as Yahoo and MSN charge a fee to include a site within their directories. If you are interested in advertising online and want advise then email or call us for a chat!

What does it mean to 'register' a domain name?

The Internet domain name system (DNS) consists of a directory, organized hierarchically, of all the domain names and their corresponding computers registered to particular companies and persons using the Internet. When you register a domain name, it will be associated with the computer on the Internet you designate during the period the registration is in effect. You do not have to be a registered company to register a domain name but there are a few rules governing what domains can/can't be registered by who. Email/call for more info.

How long does registration last?

As standard we register domains for you for 2 years. After the 2 year peroid you can then extend the registration as required. If you have specific needs to register for a longer period we can arrange this for you - email us or call to discuss your needs.
